Average turnaround time for specimens shipped to the lab is 3-5 business days. However it’s important to note the following : The Lab will allow up to 5 business days for a specimen to arrive via Fedex. The testing of the specimen can take 72 hours unless confirmation testing is needed in which case an additional 72 hours could be needed. The Medical Review Office, or MRO, can take up to 3 days if the MRO has difficulty reaching the donor via phone. The MRO will make 1 attempt per day and they are unable to speak to the donor, they will release the results as they are.
